How many network marketing businesses can you really work?

You’ve probably been told that you need to have multiple streams of income but the danger is always that you can spread yourself too thin.

The main issue is never how many businesses you can work but rather how many businesses can you focus on at the same time. There’s a Chinese proverb that says, “If you chase two rabbits, both will escape.”

Does that mean that you should only have one company? No. It means that you should have ONE focus! Most people today promote more than a single company. It's become a necessity almost. One company will often be their primary while the others are complimentary offers.

One situation many people often find themselves in is having too many companies to promote and not enough money (or energy) to do it. There are a lot of great companies out there and it’s easy to get caught in this trap. Do some research on what makes network marketing a viable business to begin with.

Once you find a business, stick with it. It’s human nature to think that the grass is always greener somewhere else. Resist the temptation to jump into the next program unless there is just no other way. Many people find themselves continually starting over with a new investment and new learning curve only to end up in the same place they were before.

Just know that when your focus is blurred and/or your budget too tight, odds are you have spread yourself too thin. That’s when it’s time to troubleshoot and figure out what is essential for your most important job: finding new prospects and developing leaders. Without those activities your business won’t grow. Just buying products and using them does not make your business grow. Prospecting action does. And that takes effort, skill and a little money to make it happen.
